What’s Wrong With Socialized Health Care?

People throw around words like socialism just to scare people, but I think people should just look at the truth. Let’s just say, for instance, the people who pay taxes get free (or relatively cheap) health-care funded by the government? What the hell is wrong with that picture? Nothing! Let’s at least not let the pharmaceutical companies have complete control over our lives. A ton of nations already have and love this system.
It’s completely stupid that people would be against something like that, yet want medicare and medicaid and their social security money once they are older. It’s the same ******* thing!
I just find it completely asinine that people are so attached to capitalistic policy when it is in fact the thing that is hurting them and predestining them to a life of hardship!
Your thoughts? Feel free to disagree (although I’m sure many will regardless of my permission).

Nothing. It’s great. I don’t have health coverage now because I lost my job. I had a throat infection after the flu and could not get antibiotics without paying the full $165 office visit plus $35 for the medicine. Couldn’t afford it so I am still coughing. If I was in Europe, I would be cured by now :-(

  2. TicToc.. says:

Why do you think the Health Care bill was almost 3,000 pages long. Why should anyone with a brain want to sign on to something that there are so many unknowns and the only people who know about it are the people who wrote it. Congress has less than 10% popularity rating with the people.
I don’t trust them neither should you.

u no nothing about socialized medicine
what countries that have socialized medicine have you been to?
    They ALL are going broke
You are getting opinion and taking it as fact.
old people do not get meds, they get an aspirin–osamma said so. did you not get the memo??
there is a waiting line, people die in line.
there is a shortage of doctors because of underpay
there is poor care if you do get care
You are on the wrong side of the issue here, little grasshopper.

No, it’s not the same thing. People who have worked all their lives and then get social security have had that money taken out of every single one of their checks without their permission their entire working lives.
Half of the United States doesn’t pay taxes. The taxpayers will have to pay for those people’s “free” health care for the rest of their lives on Obama’s socialist healthcare.
With Obama’s health care, the government owns you and can decide your fate. They will tell you there’s not enough money for that surgery you might need.

  5. Tony Montana says:

If the health care bill is so great, then why are they exempting themselves from it?
If other countries love their socialized health care, then why do they come here for treatment and surgeries?
Try reading the damn bill for yourself. It’s free too, isn’t that what you people want, free stuff?
    EDITED:
If you think that 3,000 pages being too long is just nonsense, then there is absolutely no hope for you.
Half of those 3,000 pages have nothing to do with health care in case you don’t know. It talks about raising taxes to give money to jungle jim, It talks about giving total control of the national guard to the president, It talks about school grants and with those school grants they will tell you what to study. It talks about making mandatory implementing RFID chips in the people and on and on. Its talks about things that have nothing to do with “health”.. Its all about gaining total control over the people. Seriously, I’m not *****!ng at you, I am trying to help you understand. The government will literally dictate to you as to weather or not you can receive treatment or not.
As far as the patriot act goes, It is another mass power grab. They now have the power to read, record and monitor all your texts, emails, IM’s, phone calls. They are searching without warrants and the list goes on.
They are creating a totalitarian state, and it is time that you wake up to what is really happening to your country.

I agree……..as it is now, the insurance companies own us. Look around – what industries have been and continue to thrive in the down economy……Health Care and Insurance companies. Where I live, hospitals are being built everywhere, and they all look like 5-star hotels. Each year, we pay more in premiums and get less for the money. -and you wouldn’t believe the millions of dollars the CEOs of these insurance companies make every year in salary. It’s obscene. Even with good coverage, if you need to see a doctor, you pay more co-pay and higher deductible limits. It’s crazy. Yes, I will go with a modified version of socialized medicine.

In Australia we have a health care system where the taxpayers money goes towards free health care for things covered by medicare. If you want to go to a private hospital where you pay for the bills yourself or get them paid by your private health insurance you have that right. The free health care is really important especially in times like this where people are loosing their jobs due to the uncertainty of the economy. It allows for people to go and get basic health care and afford the medicine. And for the guy who said that all of the countries that have it are going broke, look at Australia we have one of the best economies in the world and improving.

  8. Fried Lemons says:

There’s no such thing as free. Don’t claim that socialized health care is better in other countries unless you have actually lived in those countries and been through the system yourself.
Secondly, people might not want to pay into socialized health care. I think people should have a right to exempt themselves from such as system (don’t pay in, don’t get any coverage).

  9. Charles U. Farley says:

it seems to work pretty well for most of the industrialized world. Cons claim they do not want government between them and their doctor. Apparently they are ok with big corporations.

  10. william c says:

First social security and medicare is paid for by the deductions from a lifetime of work you have done. It would be solvent if Washington had not stuck their hands in the coffers to pay for their pork and special projects over SSI’s short existence . I paid in a **** load of money for my first job was at the age of 13. At 42 I had back surgery and have been on disability now for 14 years. For the last 22 years I worked I was paying in $500 or more per month for my SSI , On top of that my employer has to match what we pay in to SSI. So just the 22 years I made good money because of me being employed $250,000 + another 30,000 or so for the 9 years prior to me landing and keeping a good job was paid in for my security .A sum of $280,000 had it been gaining interest over the years would have been a good deal more money to retire on if I had been able to continue to work another 25 years. The interest gained in the last 30 years would be well over 1,000,000 to retire on.SSI has no roots in a socialist government left alone it is fully funded by the worker and his employer. You never hear about the % of people who die prior to retirement age and never collect a red cent . Where the hell does that money go? A true civilized Society will protect its aged and sick members rather than argue and fight over where the money will come from to protect them from dieing from hunger or lack of medical care. Socialized health care would be good for the country at least then the dental needs would then be fairly covered by all also.
